Security officer’s performance

The responsibilities of the security officer can range from the ordinary to the highly complex. Officers repeatedly work alone and experience minimum direct supervision. They are expected to take personal risks usually other employees are told to avoid. They are also encouraged to deal with the entire variety of human behavior even it is hostile or dangerous. Sometimes security officers make decisions that can affect the valuable physical assets and personal well-being of themselves and others.

Furthermore, because of the importance of first impressions, an incompetent or unresponsive security officer will have an adverse effect on visitors, other security employees, and the general workforce.

From both financial and human perspectives, efficient security officer performance is a critical aspect of any asset protection program. Management must take action to ensure optimum job performance by this expensive and valuable resource.
